Site Work Begins

Once color selections have been completed, initial site work will be scheduled. The site foreman will stake the location of the house on the lot. This location will depend on the lot size, house size and contour of the lot. This will determine the elevation of the first floor.

Once all locations are determined, the actual excavation begins. Topsoil will be stripped and stored and the foundation will be dug and footers will be poured with concrete. The next step is the pouring of the basement walls. Utilizing 8" poured concrete walls, instead of concrete blocks, offer a better construction. Concrete blocks are porous where poured walls are not. While you can never be assured of a dry basement, poured concrete tends to stay dryer than block walls. This concrete will then be allowed to cure and coated with a sealant
