Finding a new home is not as easy as searching the newspapers and homes magazines and looking through ads. Here is another place your agent should be a valuable recourse. He or she should know the market and make you aware of new offerings long before they are advertised in the paper. In a strong market, by the time an ad reaches the newsstand, the property is no longer available. Your agent will scan the Multi-List System (MLS) on a regular basis searching for homes meeting your needs. In addition, an experienced agent will have created a personal database of prospective sellers that he or she can call upon on your behalf. In this way you will be assured of a vast pool of prospective new homes. In addition, your agent should be abreast of the new homes being offered in the area to allow you the option of building a new home.
