Five Days To A Smooth Closing

Four days before:

____Schedule final utility meter readings for day of closing:

____Gas

____Electricity

____Water/Sewer

THREE DAYS BEFORE:

____Arrange for mail to be forwarded to new address

____Cancel newspaper subscriptions, cable TV service, telephone and garbage service.

TWO DAYS BEFORE:

____Talk to your agent to insure all necessary paperwork will be ready for closing.

THE DAY BEFORE:

____Gather all documents you are expected too bring to closing.

____Tax receipts

____Water/Sewer receipts

____Photo Identification

CLOSING DAY:

____Before you leave, sweep the entire house and make certain all belongings are out.

____Make sure all items designated to remain are in the house.

____When you leave for closing. Make sure you have documents. Along with all house keys and garage door openers.

____After the closing is complete, call your insurance agent and cancel your homeowners policy.
